Meet Dr. Romea Mitchell, D.O.
Dr. Romea Mitchell, O.D. is a Board Certified Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist.
She received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Biological Sciences (Pre-Med) from Florida International University (FIU), Miami, Florida in 1999.
Prior to her studies at FIU Dr. Harrisbaxter earned an Associate of Science Degree in General Agriculture from the College of Agriculture in Jamaica where she graduated at the top of her class.
Dr Harrisbaxter also holds the honor of being the first female to received the trophy for best overall academic achievement as she earned the highest GPA in a graduating class.
On June 4, 2006 Dr. Harrisbaxter received her Doctor of Optometry Degree from the New England College of Optometry, Boston, Massachusetts, graduating as a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society.
After graduation from optometry school Dr. Harrisbaxter and her husband migrated to Houston, Texas from her home state of Florida and his home in London, England. Shortly, thereafter they learned of a practice for sale by a retiring doctor and they quickly grasped the opportunity to purchase the practice and Global Eye Q was established.
Dr. Harrisbaxter’s compassion and firm belief in patient education in addition to her bilingual skills (English / Spanish) have endeared her to her patients and allowed her to positively impact their lives and overall healthcare. Dr. Harrisbaxter enjoys traveling, church activities, counseling / encouraging people, site seeing and spending time with her family and friends.
